Services & Specialties

Each approach is shaped around you. Sessions are 50 minutes, and you and Dr. Holt set the pace together; no number of sessions is promised.

  • A tall factory-style window and a white floor lamp in a room with wooden floorboards

    Anxiety & Panic

For anxiety and panic that live in the body: a fast heart, a tight chest, the sense that something is about to happen. We start with what steadies you, then look at what sets it off. This is not a promise that anxiety goes away; it is practice at meeting it differently.

    • Cognitive behavioral methods

    • Body-based grounding

    • Exposure, only at a pace you choose

    • Mindfulness practice

  • Patterned cushions on a dark sofa with a plant shadow, under a framed painting

    Trauma & PTSD

For the effects of one event or of years spent on guard. Sessions begin with preparation: ways to settle, and a plan for how to stop. EMDR and Somatic Experiencing come after that, and only if you want them. This is not a quick fix, and no memory work starts in the first sessions.

    • EMDR, trained through an EMDRIA-approved program

    • Somatic Experiencing, trained through Somatic Experiencing International

    • Attachment-focused work

    • Widening your window of tolerance

  • A lit lantern hanging on a dark wooden plank wall

    Depression & Grief

For low, heavy stretches and for loss. We pair small, doable steps with room to talk about what you have lost. Grief here is never hurried toward acceptance, and low mood is not treated as a flaw to fix.

    • Behavioral activation

    • Making meaning of loss

    • Grief that has stayed with you for years

    • Living by your values

  • Cream cushions on a tufted grey sofa by a window onto woodland

    Relationship Wounds & Attachment

For patterns that began in early relationships and show up in closeness, conflict and trust. We look at how they work and try other ways of relating. This is individual therapy, not couples therapy.

    • Attachment-informed work

    • Mapping relational patterns

    • Communication skills

    • Work with the parts of you that learned to protect

  • A double-height living room with a large sectional sofa and tall windows at dusk

    Identity & Life Transitions

Career changes, coming out, becoming a parent, losing a parent, retirement, divorce. A transition asks you to let go of who you were before you know who comes next. We make room for the in-between.

    • Narrative identity work

    • Clarifying values

    • Existential questions

    • Making decisions at your pace

  • A mustard leather chaise beside wooden panelled doors in warm light

    Burnout & Boundaries

For the exhaustion that comes from giving more than you have. We look at what drives the over-giving and practice setting limits, with rest built into the plan. Saying no is a skill, and we practice it in the room.

    • Naming what drains you

    • Boundary-setting skills

    • Patterns of pleasing others

    • Planning for rest
